BARBIE CUPS and a GIVEAWAY!!

Some of you may know what Barbie cups are and others may not. They have been around in our family for as long as we can remember. We thought our mom made it up herself, but more than likely many moms have made this recipe without even knowing it. Mom just always called them "Barbie cups." Here is the quick how to!

Ingredients include:

Hamburger meat, your favorite barbecue sauce, Grands buttermilk biscuits and cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

First, you cook the hamburger meat and strain it. Next, add your favorite barbecue sauce to the hamburger meat. At this point you can add any of your favorite ingredients to the hamburger meat to enhance the taste. You could try a little brown sugar, onions, ketchup or green peppers. Whatever your family likes best. Mix the meat and sauce in a bowl.

Now, open the can of biscuits and flatten them out. Lay them each in a muffin tin opening leaving a large dip in the center. This is where the hamburger meat will go. We love to use the Grands buttermilk can biscuits, but you can also use a regular size biscuit. We like them big and chunky!

Now, place spoonfuls of the meat inside the biscuits and place in oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

After they come out of the oven, sprinkle some cheese and now you have a wonderful dish. Our kids love these! Hope you try them!

And now for our GIVEAWAY from

well, my favorite thing to make is cupcakes!! but something i have started doing is boiling a whole pack of spaghetti noodles ahead of time. then i portion them into the cups and freeze them. so when my mr. picky eater luke wants mama's spaghetti in a hurry, i get 1 or 2 bundles out of the freezer and put it in the microwave with a tbsp or 2 of water and heat and drain. no water boiling and waiting!!

Ok, i'm going for two in a row! My favorite thing is Sausage and Cheese Muffins.

1 lb ground pork sausage
3 cups all purpose baking mix
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 can condensed cheese soup
3/4 cup water

-cook and drain sausage
-combine sausage, baking mix, and cheese in a large bowl;make a well in the center of mixture
-stir together soup and water; add to sausage mixture, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Spoon into lightly greased muffin pans (I perfer the mini muffin pans) filling to the top of cups.
-bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned.

p.s. these reheat great!

Chocolate chip muffins are the best! Although I might also add Barbie Cups. I've never called them that...that's a more fun name than BBQ bisquits. Our kids love them too!

Your "Barbie cups" or as well call them at our house Bar-B-Q cups (because the boys would never eat anything called "Barbie") are my favorite muffin pan dish, too! Ryan begs me to make them.

I am not the best baker in the world, but I do make a mean banana nut bread and have made them into muffins before. Yum! I love the spaghetti idea as well. I have a 2.5 year old so it's a great tip to try.

I love muffins, but I also learned recently how to make single serving meatloaf in a muffin pan. It's great if you're watching your weight.

They work better in the tiny muffin tins, but I love to make artichoke wonton cups. They're the best appetizer!

My favorite thing to make in a muffin pan is my late mother-in-laws blueberry muffin recipe- it is not anything especially different than others, but it puts a smile on Tim's face everytime :) His mother passed away when we were very young(20 & 24) and I didn't know her very well but I am privelidged to have many of her recipes and everytime I use one of them he tells our kids about how she used to make this fofr him and then the stories start- I wouldn't trade those oppertunities for anything!
